Yes. I think you could gain quite the following.
Don't do it. It's a terrible idea.

(Me cosplaying as Sayori from Doki Doki Literature club) I'm not the greatest cosplayer. That was the second time I've tried styling a wig. But people at the convention me and my fiance went to kept asking me if I had any social media they could follow me on. Do you think it would be a good idea to start an Instagram for my cosplays? I've been thinking about it a lot, but I wanna know what you guys think. Should I do it?

Not unless you want to spend lots of money and especially time

@Stardust519 What am I supposed to take from that? You will have competition

@Jackaloftheazuresand on Instagram or cosplay in general?

@Stardust519 It comes to what you want to accomplish, I tell you your following will not be big so you can disregard large profit unless you go through with the expenditures. As for just fame, same thing. I can't even name a con booked cosplayer and they make thousands per event for their dedication.

If you just want to play around then what do you lose by having an instagram? Just know this is not likely to be a segue.
