I enjoy a little novelty every now and again, but I really appreciate art. My wife and I both admire and appreciate art, and so that's what I'd be more inclined to buy. Some novelty actually becomes art, especially when it is retro.

I'd get something I am apt to use or see a lot, not something to tuck away.

Wall art but a coffee cup or phone case might be good too.
