If you don't do this...

Don't get contacted by phone or text with an enquiry about your well-being, would you assume this person does not like you and is not your friend?
No. Everybody with whom I have a connection also has connections with many others.

To think they are intentionally not contacting me is conceit, viewing myself as the center of THEIR universe. Other connections may have far more valid demands on their attention, or they themselves have difficulties and time constraints.

Friendship isn't a contract of employment. It's a gift.

I guess it depends on how long it's been, but I try to take into account that things are going on for everyone. I don't always check in and some time might pass before I do. Also, I guess it depends on how close they are suppose to be to me. If it's family or a loved one, I'd hope they'd check up, if it's a friend, than maybe I'd give them some leeway.
