If you have a friend who really likes you but you don't feel the same way and you already have someone else,

Would you tell them so they'll move away?
Would you still continue talking to them? Do you think they will really disappear if you say so?

Be honest. Let them make their own decisions on how they would like to proceed. But, you may need to tell them more than once. Some people are taught to never g give up on love.

I don't trust people who claim to really like me when I don't really like them. They're usually the first ones to get furious with jealousy if they find out that I have anything they don't have.

Telling them is the humane thing to do.

They're a FRIEND!

Of Course you explain it all to them!

In 3 Days or 3 years Things, like People, will change!

Always be prepared for such change!

Always tell friends what they need to know
in a way in which you would prefer to be told.

I would tell the truth.
No, I have a few friends. If they’re decent to me chances are I’ll like them well enough. It’s not the same as a romantic situation.
