Do you know what its like to be afraid to love anyone? and if yes then why you're afraid to do so?

I do know what it's like. After a lifetime of rejection, being used/taken advantage of, made a fool of, lied to, and then followed by a very hurtful and disastrous marriage...I was afraid to show any interest let alone any affection or love. I still liked women, I just no longer trusted any one of them when it came to my heart, life, and being. It took one incredibly amazing woman to show me that not all women were the same and restore my faith.

I dont think I'm afraid to love. I think I might be afraid to be loved though. Not exactly sure why but I have inklings.

They might not love back.

All I know from anyone I’ve shown my heart is hurt and disappointment.

I openly have trust issues. My wife seems to have made it a project.

I'm afraid of hurting someone or being hurt.
