Do you let friends walk away?

midnightsun · 26-30, M
Then they ain't my friends in the first place
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@midnightsun So true.
Carver · 31-35, F
Yes. Even if I don't want them to go.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Carver I do too.
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
Good friends will always be in the heart not tied to a place. Other friends are just names on my phone.
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
@SweetMae right that's why I booked a place for you on my phone ☺
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@SolidHeart You have??
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
@SweetMae yes and added a photo of you. The one in red dress but missing your face ☺
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
Friends only walk away with the intention of walking back.
You can’t stop anyone from walking away....you can only stop them from coming back if you don’t want them back.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@DragonFruit That is true. Good friends take the journey with us.
People come into our lives for reason and also seasons. I’ve always been okay with people (and me) moving on if and when it’s time
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Pinkstarburst That is true. Sometimes we walk alone for a while.
@SweetMae I am always amazed looking back at a life event and seeing the people who came, left, and stayed. We are all placed in exactly the right spot at the right time.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Pinkstarburst Yes, that is amazing.

Not that I had any other option tbh.
Usually I feel like doing it too from certain situations and people.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@SW-User Yes, I have walked too.
Degbeme · 70-79, M
Why am I now picturing your hair flowing in the wind? ;)

Love this post Mae. :* 🤗
SW-User
I try not to :( they leave me
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@SW-User I'm sorry.

Peaches · F
Yes, 😍🍀stick with the ones who care.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Peaches Absolutely!! ✨💕
Synyster · 51-55, M
Only one. It's been awhile but I decided to let him back in. He was a really close friend and my roommate when I was in my early twenties.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@Synyster Glad you are friends again.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@SweetMae Thank you. Me too. 😊
ISeeYou · M
It is possible that people change over time. I would let them find their peace as I find mine.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@ISeeYou That is true. We all change. I'm glad mine haven't walked away.
ISeeYou · M
@SweetMae That’s lovely. I am glad for you.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@ISeeYou Thank you. ☺️
pdockal · 56-60, M
Depends on the friend ... Usually try for an expansion why they are trying to leave and then try to apologize if I did something wrong
A conversation is a must
Depends on person / situation .. I have reached out a time or two to see what kind of response I get and taken cue from that .. have just let others slip away
katielass · F
I believe in not holding onto something or someone too tight. If they go, they go, can't stop them. If they stay, fantastic.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@katielass Yes, it is better to let them go.
sunrisehawk · 61-69, M
Life has many paths, I enjoy the friends who walk with me regardless of how long they are on the same path
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@sunrisehawk That is a great way to be.
JustNik · 51-55, F
I wouldn’t want anyone in my life who didn’t want to be there.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@JustNik I wouldn't either.

SweetMae · 70-79, F

PainandPleasure · 46-50, M
Very true... 100 x ❤️
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@PainandPleasure I have a friend like that. It means so much to me.
PainandPleasure · 46-50, M
@SweetMae I am truly happy for you!
I rarely see them
No...I carry them...
SweetMae · 70-79, F
rjc36 · 56-60, M
That's rather true. We can come together with friends and oft part as one moves on. Time goes by and we-and they become insignificant. A bittersweet memory at best.

The ones meant to stay do.
pennynoodles · 56-60, F
I would reach out to try and hold on if I felt they wanted it but yes, I would let them walk if it was for the best.
SW-User
If someone stops responding, absolutely. I have no interest in a one sided friendship. It's a waste of my time.
WildHeart · 41-45, F
Yes I do, I wont hold on to any person who doesnt want to stay
