The problem may arise when the common enemy is vanquished and then you're looking at a friend with whom you had nothing else in common, and who may become your new enemy.

@Gingerbreadspice In the article I read, the suggestion was that the common interest often included a mutual dislike of something on the outside. Just sayin....
