I miss my old friend :(

I miss my old friend but we lost contact a couple years back :( we were really cool in middle school and I low key had a crush on him at that time. but I don’t think he was into me like that. I think he was into my sister but he hates her now lol...(that’s another story for another time...) regardless though, we were hella tight. I recently found a message he wrote me (a couple years ago.) that said:

“I MISS YOU :( you ALWAYS made me laugh. I don’t even know why. You wouldn’t even have to try and you’d make me laugh. But yeah, I miss you!”

I wish we still talked today. You grow up, you grow apart... people change. that’s just how things are. I’m not depressed about it but bummed.

At the time he messaged that I didn’t even really take into account how flattering it was but every time I go back and read that message now, it makes me feel better about myself. So maybe I didn’t have what it took to be considered possible gf material for him or whatever BUT I will always be able to live with the fact that for a moment, I was able to make someone happy without even trying. To me that means a lot and that’s all I can really ask for

Nice story. I relate to it.
I had a male pal at school who i was real close to. We were never a couple, never dated....but we had really special moments between us. He wrote me a song, i alwys felt best around him, and we'd tease each other for hours....just laughing and sometimes just staring at each other until we got a reaction!! Were still friends now....even tho living on opposite sides of the world. He is married...as am I. About 3 years ago I set up a school page on FB. One evening we carried on in private a conversation that started publicly on the age. It became an admittion on both parts how much we loved each other at that time....and it was quite overwhelming to hear....to know for certain after all those years we had both felt the same and really had meant as much to each other as we'd dared believe. He was hope a few weeks ago....it was amazing g to see him.....still so comfortable. We met up with couple of pals in a bar... and a number of people commented stuff like... 'I always thought you two would get together' and ' you two always looked right together'.

Remember those feelings you have hunni. Relationships that special don't happen too often. We were lucky we didnt loose touch in all those years....and it's still special now.

@RubySoo oh I found him. He follows me on Instagram and vice versa but we still don’t talk. We haven’t talked since we were like 14 and I haven’t seen him irl since I was like 12 or 13 I’m guessing so it’s been a while for sure. He lives in Texas and I live in California and people have separate lives you know? I don’t mean to be negative but our friendship wasn’t really that special anyway. Your story sounds a lot more special than mine😹. We were just two kids who got along well. That’s all there really is to it.
