Why is it that some people actually go out of their way to be losers?

erikman48 · 61-69, M
they wallow in negativity and being a victim. They are looking for sympathy.

I have experienced this in my time as an employer. I believe one has to have a will to, at least go half way to meeting the people who offer support.

many people have tunnel vision and their interpretation is what the want to believe instead of looking at the wider picture.
@erikman48 that does make a lot of sense. And many other comments here do too especially the pity seekers. Remember I'm only saying this about people who "go out of their way" and not people who really do have it bad without a choice. I'm trying to figure out how to identify the difference.

It's better than going out of their way to be winners and ending up as losers. It's far less disappointing in the long run.

If doing the right thing makes me a loser, then I'd rather be a loser.

Maybe they find expectations stressful. Coming across as a loser means that people expect less from them.
