@beermeplease next time look at the ones who gotta way hahaha
@Lilnonames @beermeplease Portland has one of the most famous early episodes, where the deputy sheriff busted that one weed grow op, in like 1989 or so, where he seized the classic red corvette and left a message on the guy's answering machine. Deputy John Bunnell later got his own tv reality cop show on Fox because the producers liked him so much.

Living in San Diego these are the ones I can think of

Some Like It Hot
Top Gun
Demolition Man
Bring It On
Carving A Life
Scavenger Hunt
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

The only TV show I can think of was

Simon & Simon
@MrPerditus1 cool...i like san diego. closest i've been was watching a chargers/vikings game in 2011. we drove from palm springs on a whim when we were on holidays....would love to see more of san diego
A couple Clint Eastwood pictures were filmed in my area because he owned a ranch not to far from here. Also the train trestle from Stand by me is not that far either
@mindlessdrifter cool...when i look at wiki about where i live i can't believe how many films were filmed here. final destination films, lake placid, first blood, ......
@beermeplease I loved those films. I think the best films came out of Canada
@mindlessdrifter they love to film here because of the american dollar. we've had film crew personnel show up at my work looking for props. we have very significant items. we would basically sell them old junk samples and charged them an arm and a leg. they had no problem paying for it as production can't be stopped

These are just the films - - - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Films_shot_in_Hamilton,_Ontario

TV - - - Hamilton has been called “a location’s scout dream.” It’s provided the background for countless blockbuster films and TV shows, including The Handmaid’s Tale (Hulu), The Boys (Amazon Prime), The Umbrella Academy (Netflix), Guillermo Del Toro's Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley and Cabinet of Curiosities (Netflix) (Del Toro is a known Hamilton super fan), Murdoch Mysteries (CBC), Locke & Key, Titans, The Queen’s Gambit, Shazam, and the list goes on. New productions shot in the Hammer to keep an eye out for this year include The Big Cigar (Apple TV+), Alex Cross (Amazon Prime), The Invisibles, Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving, and Blackberry.

@NativePortlander1970 in the northwest, I don't know where green valley is though

@beermeplease Actually there was a movie filmed in my highschool.. can't remember the name but it stars that kid that says "I see dead people" in that other movie
@caPnAhab So around Mountain's Edge and Fort Apache? I did security posts at a lot of DR Horton developments in that area. Green Valley is in the eastern area, in Henderson, close to Harry Reid International.

I was almost an extra in My Own Private Idaho, with Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix, I watched the elk statue scene being filmed while I was on a lunch break DownTown. The final scene of Point Break was filmed north of Cannon Beach, Oregon, and the Goonies, Kindergarten Cop, and Short Circuit, were all filmed in Astoria, Oregon, while the 1987 original version of Overboard, with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell was filmed in Newport, Oregon, Hunted with Tommy Lee Jones and Benecio Del Toro was filmed all around Portland, while Brainsmasher: A Love Story, with Andrew Dice Clay, was filmed mainly all around DownTown Portland, that movie has so many goofs it's hilarious. Mr Holland's Opus was also a Portland movie.
@NativePortlander1970 goldie hawn and kurt russell used to live in a ritzy part of vancouver as goldie's son played for a "junior a" hockey team here...apparently she showed up drunk to some of his games but that is just rumors
As for tv shows, the Librarians with John Larroquette, their main location is the St. John's Bridge in North Portland, Grimm, and Stumptown, as was Hello Larry, a Diff'rent Strokes spinoff, in the late 70's, starring Colonel Henry Blake and Kim Richardson, who was in the original Escape to Witch Mountain.
